Аннотация: Целью введения Визовой информационной системы является установление процедур и условий для обмена данными между государствами-членами о визах для краткосрочного пребывания. Каждое государство-член передает Комиссии перечень компетентных органов, сотрудники которых уполномочены на доступ, исправление, удаление или изучение данных в VIS. В каждом государстве-члене любое лицо будет иметь право возбудить иск или подать жалобу в компетентные суды этого государства, если ему отказано в праве на доступ к касающимся его данным или в праве на исправление или удаление этих данных. Дальнейшая разработка и создание VIS требует создания всесторонней правовой основы.
